Instead of starting at an airport, one of my favorite travel experiences started at the Turkish Airlines New York Office. The visit felt more like visiting a worldwide travel lounge than a normal airline office, and it was housed in the famous Empire State Building. My last-minute travel plans became much less stressful as soon as I arrived because of the welcoming atmosphere and professional setting. My plan was complicated, with several stops in the Middle East and Europe. Instead of making me navigate lengthy phone menus or intricate websites, the staff carefully examined my reservation, listened to my concerns, and presented me with possibilities I was unaware of, such as a complimentary hotel stay during my layover in Istanbul.
