With the upcoming festive season in mind, the Food Safety Department is conducting extensive inspections across the state to ensure food quality and safety. Under the supervision of Food Safety Commissioner Dr. Poma Tudu, the drive involves inspecting food business establishments in various districts, subdivisions, and urban areas; substandard and adulterated food items are being destroyed, and action is being taken against the concerned establishments. So far, a total of 3,605 kilograms of substandard food items have been destroyed, and 475 food samples have been collected for testing. Additionally, fines amounting to ₹2,84,500 have been collected.
