I own a small online tutoring company, and have been checking out various ways to promote it online for cheap (if not free). That is when I came across this site. It looks like it could be a useful resource, but I am really wondering - do free classified ads still work in 2025?

I plan to run an ad for a remote ruby on rails course. It is a beginner level course that bases its content on project based learning. Before I post, I would like to ask other users on this site: Have any of you been successful in promoting an educational product or service here?

If so, can you tell me what was successful for you in terms of what the ad said, timing when you posted, or what category you posted in? Were you able to convert those responses into leads or registrations? How often did you actually get a response?

What are some practical tips you have for using this site? I would prefer to hear actual user experiences, rather than experiment my own way through it.
