I’m reaching out to learn more about the bone marrow transplant process, as a close family member has recently been diagnosed with a blood disorder, and the doctors have suggested BMT as the next step. We’re trying to understand what to expect—physically, emotionally, and financially—before making such a big decision. Has anyone here gone through a bone marrow transplant in Pakistan, especially at centers like NIBD Karachi, Aga Khan University Hospital, or Shifa International? How was the donor matching process, hospital care, and recovery period? We’re also concerned about the risks and long-term outcomes. Any advice, personal experiences, or tips on choosing the right facility and preparing for the journey would be incredibly appreciated.
