I’m currently using Oxycodone to manage ongoing pain from a combination of old injuries and a recent surgery. My doctor prescribed it after trying a few other medications that didn’t work well enough. So far, Oxycodone has helped me function much better during the day and get some much-needed sleep at night.
I’ve been on it for a couple of months now and I’m using it as prescribed. I’ve tried both immediate-release (IR) and extended-release (ER) forms, depending on how intense the pain is and how long I need coverage. The immediate-release works quickly and is great for sudden flare-ups, while the extended-release helps control the pain over longer periods without having to take pills as often.
That said, I’m trying to stay cautious. I’ve read a lot about the risk of tolerance and dependence, and I want to be proactive. I haven’t had major side effects yet, aside from some mild constipation and occasional drowsiness. I’ve been managing those with diet changes and making sure to stay hydrated.
